How To Join
Several times a year St. Matthew's offers a new disciple (new member) process to those that have been worshiping with our congregation.

For those that have never been baptized with water in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we encourage you to ask for a personal conversation with our pastor.  Parents seeking Holy Baptism for their infant children are likewise asked to visit with our pastor.  Because we believe that Holy Baptism is entrance both into God's family and into a way of life, we expect those seeking Holy Baptism to go through our new disciple process.

On a Saturday morning one month prior to the day that new disciples join, we offer a new disciple class for those adults and older youth that have never been baptized, as well as, for those Christians coming to us from other than Lutheran churches.  This three hour class provides a chance to meet other newcomers and to learn together about the Lutheran Christian understanding of Holy Baptism, Holy Communion (the Lord's Supper), and traditional liturgical worship.

On the Saturday morning before new disciples join, we offer an orientation for those that completed the new disciples' class and for those Lutherans that are either transferring to St. Matthew's or reaffirming their faith after having been away from the Lutheran church for a while.  This three hour orientation provides the latest class of newcomers an opportunity to connect with each other and to meet some of our congregational leaders.  In short, the orientation helps newcomers to learn how St. Matthew's works and how they can share their gifts in the life of this congregation.

There is a place for you at St. Matthew's!
